It’s been awhile since my last blog entry. Much has happened since then. I’m happy to see my dad’s books have both been published, and I wish him all the best in his bookselling adventures. I know he has a conference coming up where he is the only social worker speaking amongst a large group of doctors- sounds intimidating, but I’m sure Dad is up for the challenge. In my personal life there have been some frustrating events. I have had 2 episodes, both within the course of the past 8 months, and while these episodes occurred, I was taking the prescribed doses of medication, which makes it even more frustrating. What if the media stopped describing those who kill innocent school children, movie goers, college students and marathon spectators as evil, mad, insane, fanatical or mentally ill? What if the media, on cue from physicians and scientists, described biologically meaningful conditions that, had they been identified earlier, would have been treatable? My latest meeting with doctor Z

In my latest meeting with the doctor, my dad asked if Minocycline was as effective against Lyme disease as any of the other antibiotics I am taking. He suggested switching with one of the other antibiotics since that drug has been highly effective in reducing symptoms of psychosis. Dr Z said we could do that but I told him I didn’t want to change any of the meds. The doctor, not having any reason to disagree with me, said he was in favor of keeping my dosages and medications the same, and not rock the boat. I appreciate the doctor for listening to my concerns, and agreeing to keep the medications the same. So far it has been nearly 9 months since my last...
