Now that the books are finally out the door, it is time to give a progress report. While taking the antibiotics, supplements and antibiotics, Chris had a 19 month run of good health during which time he held a job, not a small accomplishment, given his previous history of multiple episodes. He had been doing so well that his psychiatrist slowly took him off the Haldol while continuing with Depakote and Seroquel. She recommended that he stop taking the antibiotics. I argued that until we knew that the infections were gone, I thought he should stay on them. It’s been awhile since my last blog entry. Much has happened since then. I’m happy to see my dad’s books have both been published, and I wish him all the best in his bookselling adventures. I know he has a conference coming up where he is the only social worker speaking amongst a large group of doctors- sounds intimidating, but I’m sure Dad is up for the challenge. In my personal life there have been some frustrating events. I have had 2 episodes, both within the course of the past 8 months, and while these episodes occurred, I was taking the prescribed doses of medication, which makes it even more frustrating.
