Dr Bransfield speaks on Microbes and Mental Illness

Dr Bransfield, who wrote the introduction to my first book gave a Dean Center Lecture Grand Rounds March 14 this year at Harvard Medical School Teaching Hospital. His topic was microbes and mental illness. Some of his ideas I discuss in Beyond Mental Illness. In that book I discuss some of the effects of quinolinic acid secondary to chronic infections. Here is one fascinating tidbit from his talk. Quinolinic acid correlates with feelings of guilt.
